Our First Lunch & Learn at Meriden Animal Hospital
We were recently invited to do our first ever NorthPoint Pets presentation at a local veterinary office!
Meriden Animal Hospital is one of Connecticut’s most awarded pet healthcare providers – both locally and nationally. As a privately owned, full-service small animal veterinary hospital with four doctors, MAH offers services including wellness visits, diagnostic procedures, dental, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, pharmacy, prescription food, internal medicine, advanced diagnostic capabilities in addition to digital x-ray and ultrasound. They have a gorgeous facility with state-of-the-art equipment and a compassionate team to offer their clients education, guidance, and individualized care. For these reasons, it is one of our most frequently recommended vet hospitals for our local customers.
When Dr. James St. Clair (medical director) invited us to a “Lunch & Learn” with their talented team of vets and vet techs, we couldn’t have been more eager to accept!
On April 19th 2023 Beth, Morgan, and Jenna brought lunch and snacks to the vet hospital. While the vet team enjoyed their lunch, our team shared a presentation highlighting factors that make NorthPoint so unique:
At NorthPoint, we take great pride in our team of experts, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our passion for pets and their well-being is evident in everything we do. One of our greatest strengths lies in our team’s diverse perspectives and collaborative approach to problem-solving. As a result, we can provide our customers and their pets with the best possible care.
A primary differential for NorthPoint is that we don’t just sell products. Instead, we offer a service that provides unbiased information, guidance, and advice tailored to each pet’s unique needs and its owner. Our customers trust us as a reliable resource to help them make informed decisions, even if it means recommending products we don’t carry.
We shared our belief that every pet is unique and deserves customized advice based on their individual needs. That’s why we invest heavily in the education of our team, allowing us to offer science-backed nutritional advice and personalized recommendations. Our core values of nutrition, transparency and respect for others guide every decision we make, from the products we carry to the relationships we build with our customers.
We discussed the challenges that pet owners face when it comes to deciphering marketing claims and choosing the right products for their pets. That’s why Nicci has enrolled in the University of Georgia’s Canine Nutrition doctoral program. Additionally, Jenna recently enrolled in online courses from the University of Glasgow to pursue her diploma in Animal Nutrition. Lastly, our full-time team member Morgan, a Certified Veterinary Technician, just completed a 6 month Natural Animal Nutrition from the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies. This advanced education gives us unparalleled expertise and an unbiased perspective that we can share with our customers.
Lastly, we shared our safety and quality standards for the products that we carry, including the 8 questions we ask companies before we introduce their products. Ultimately, these standards not only give us confidence in our recommendations, but also aim to improve the standards for transparency across the entire pet industry.
After the presentation, the MAH team asked questions about topics like common health concerns (such as kidney disease and allergies), and why we recommend hydrating kibble. They also gave us a tour of their beautiful facility.
This meeting was an incredible experience for both teams. It was an amazing opportunity to collaborate with other pet professionals, to share our experiences and insights that can benefit not only our teams, but ultimately the pets and pet parents we work with.
